In addition to rich history and impressive architecture, you can also look forward to culinary delights. The best way to discover these is to visit the Ballaró street market, the oldest market in Palermo. The surrounding area also has its charms - the former fishing village of Mondello with its fine Art Nouveau villas, the idyllic mountain village of Monreale with its imposing cathedral or Cefalú with its old town dating back to the 12th century.
