Even today, the numerous houses in the classicist style of "spa architecture" still exude a touch of this sophisticated atmosphere of days gone by. Where once the Mann brothers, Gorky and Tolstoy walked, today's excursion takes you past impressive Wilhelminian villas, the unmistakable turret-crowned pier of Ahlbeck and the longest pier on the Baltic Sea in Heringsdorf. The pier with the restaurant pavilion is the unmistakable landmark of Ahlbeck and a popular backdrop in film and television.
